“Bitcoin is the world’s digital financial system, and Lightning is Bitcoin’s funds layer,” Cathie Wooden, the top of Coinbase’s second-biggest shareholder, ARK Make investments, wrote on X in response to Armstrong’s submit Wednesday. “Coinbase’s integration with Lightning will give its 100 million customers an on-ramp to sooner and cheaper bitcoin transactions.
